Missed Appointment Policy

At Miller Optometry, we strive to provide the best possible care for all our patients. To ensure that we can accommodate everyone effectively, we have established the following policy for missed appointments:

Cancelation and Rescheduling:

  • Patients must provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
  • Failure to provide sufficient notice will be considered a missed appointment.

Late Arrivals:

  • It may not be possible to see patients arriving late for their appointments and this will be considered a missed appointment.

Pre-Payment of Future Appointments:

  • Patients who miss an appointment will be required to pre-pay for their new appointment.
  • This pre-payment will be applied to the upcoming appointment time.
  • In this situation, we cannot direct bill third-party benefits providers.  We may be able to assist patients in submitting claims for reimbursement from their benefits provider after they attend their appointment

Forfeiture of Pre-Payment:

  • If a patient does not attend their rescheduled appointment, any pre-payment will be forfeited and will not be applied to future appointments.

At times treating eye emergency appointments and complex cases means that our doctors may need to flex their schedule and appear to run behind.  We will keep scheduled appointments informed of timescale should this happen and appreciate your patience.

We also understand that exceptional circumstances do happen very occasionally.  We will be as understanding as possible with this policy.
